Interstellar
Look at any image. Now go back as far as you can. Unless you have a hawk’s eye, it is not really the same image anymore, is it? Now approach the image, as close as you can. Not the same image again, right? All we are is an intermediary between the big and small. Stuck in the middle, motionless really, unable to escape our bubble which consist of our own conciseness and what is set before us as a given.
Either it is a bird, a plane or Superman, our perception changes depending on our physical distance from an image, our preconceived knowledge and social background that varies from one person to the other. All those factors warp our understanding of the universe and what lays in front of our eyes.
Inspired by the galaxies and nebulae of space, and the microscopic world, 'Interstellar' challenges this thought and brings forward the question of reality.
'Interstellar' is a photo-experimental project that is based on analogue darkroom work and digital manipulation. The hybrid of both methods brings another layer to the work as it gives the freedom for manipulation. Nevertheless, it relies on sheer luck and unpredictability.
